Nonprofits, social enterprises, and community-based organizations doing active work in Africa.
what do we get?+
Access to practical digital support, including:

- relevant funding opportunities
- social impact events and resources
- ongoing help as needs change
what does it cost?+
Nothing to participating organizations. Support is funded by Birthright Project and its supporters.
do we need an existing website?+
No. A website can be the first thing we help you put in place.
do we need technical skills?+
No. DearAfrica is designed to make useful technology easier to access and use.
does my organization need to be formally registered?+
Not always. We may ask for registration documents where relevant, but community-based organizations can also apply.
how do you decide who is accepted?+
We look for organizations that are active, locally connected, and doing the work they describe.
how long does support last?+
Website support starts with one year. Access to training, funding opportunities, events, and other resources may continue as they become relevant and available.
can i move my website before the end of the first year?+
Yes. Your website is yours from day one. If you want to move it or take over management before the first year ends, we'll help with the handoff.
what happens after the free year?+
You can take over — we'll show you how and help with the handoff — or apply to renew your sponsorship. We'll review the request and, where possible, match you with a new sponsor.
what happens after we apply?+
We review your application, confirm the organization is active, and contact selected organizations with next steps.
